DO-NOT-CALL POLICY
The Dot Com Machine — a registered assumed name of LedgerNorth LLC
Adopted . Maintained by LedgerNorth LLC, a Texas limited liability company, Texas Secretary of State Filing Number 806749575, doing business as The Dot Com Machine, with notices to 5900 Balcones Drive, STE 100, Austin, TX 78731-4298 ("the Company").
This policy is available on demand to any person who requests it, at no charge, by telephone at (888) 884-1008, by email at [email protected], or at https://thedotcommachine.com/do-not-call.
1. WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS
1.1 Scope. The Company places telephone calls and text messages to businesses to offer website design and related services. This policy governs every such call, by anyone acting for the Company, including employees, independent contractors, and any third party calling on the Company's behalf.
1.2 Who must follow it. Every person who places calls for the Company is bound by this policy. No person may place a call for the Company before reading it and being trained on it under Section 5.
1.3 It applies to every call. The Company does not distinguish between calls it believes are exempt and calls it believes are regulated. A request not to be called is honored whoever makes it and whatever the legal category of the call.
2. HOW TO TELL US NOT TO CALL
2.1 Any request counts. A request not to be called may be made by any means and in any words. The person does not need to use particular language, cite a law, or explain why. "Don't call me again," "take me off your list," "we're not interested, stop calling," and any equivalent are all requests under this policy.
2.2 Where requests may be made.
- By saying so on a call. The caller records it immediately.
- On the website at https://thedotcommachine.com/do-not-call, which records the request directly.
- By email to [email protected].
- By text or voicemail to (888) 884-1008.
2.3 A request is never argued with. A person who receives a request will acknowledge it, end the call politely, and record it. Rebuttals, retention offers, and "just one more question" are prohibited after a request is made.
3. WHAT HAPPENS TO A REQUEST
3.1 Recorded immediately. Every request is entered into the Company's internal do-not-call record at the time it is received, together with the telephone number, the date and time, the person who received it, and how it arrived.
3.2 Honored immediately, and in no case later than 30 days. The Company's practice is to suppress the number on entry. The outside limit is thirty (30) days from the date of the request.
3.3 Keyed to the number, not to a record. A suppressed telephone number remains suppressed regardless of what happens to any prospect or client record associated with it. Deleting, re-importing, or re-discovering a business does not revive a suppressed number.
3.4 Retained for five years. Do-not-call records are kept for at least five (5) years from the date of the request, and in practice are not deleted.
3.5 Company-wide. A request made to any person acting for the Company applies to the Company as a whole, not only to the caller who received it.
4. IDENTIFICATION ON EVERY CALL
4.1 What the caller states. At the beginning of every call, the caller states their own name, that they are calling for The Dot Com Machine, and the purpose of the call.
4.2 On request. The caller provides the Company's telephone number, (888) 884-1008, and its mailing address, on request and without conditions.
4.3 No misrepresentation. Callers do not misstate who they are, who they represent, why they are calling, or any affiliation with the business being called. Callers do not represent that the Company is affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any prospect.
5. TRAINING
5.1 Before the first call. No person places a call for the Company until they have read this policy and been trained on it, including how to recognize a request, how to record it, and the identification requirements in Section 4.
5.2 Recorded. The Company records who was trained and when.
5.3 Refreshed. Training is repeated whenever this policy changes, and reviewed at least annually.
6. CALLING HOURS AND CONDUCT
6.1 Hours. Calls are placed only between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the time zone of the person being called.
6.2 Business numbers. The Company calls telephone numbers a business has published for the purpose of being contacted. It does not call numbers obtained from purchased consumer lists.
6.3 No automated dialing or prerecorded messages. The Company does not use autodialers, prerecorded voices, artificial voices, or bulk messaging services. Every call is placed manually by a person.
6.4 Text messages. The Company sends text messages only to a number whose owner has affirmatively agreed to receive them, and the same do-not-call request ends texts as well as calls.
7. RESPONSIBILITY
7.1 Who maintains this policy. The Manager of LedgerNorth LLC is responsible for this policy, for the do-not-call record, for training, and for responding to demands for a copy of this policy.
7.2 Violations. A person who places a call to a suppressed number, or who fails to record a request, is retrained; repeated failures end the engagement.
7.3 Review. This policy is reviewed at least annually and whenever the Company's calling practices change.
